Over the past few years PSI Supplies has been involved with many of our customers in projects. These projects vary from value-adding to products that adopt to their specific needs, to cabinet manufacture, design and installation. We've also been involved in specialised component manufature and large-scale turn-key factory modernisation, as well as design and supply of equipment that reduces Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) issues within plants.

The SeaSim has been designed and built to offer a complete hands on experience in state of the art operation of a ship's rudder controls from both the bridge and the engine room. 

Features include power assisted hydraulic steering, joystick, electronic jog control, emergency manual control. SeaSim offers a unique insight into the operation of the rudder. 

Problem: Customer had an old manual filling system for filling 20litre and 200litre drums - low volume petroleum products.

Due to an increase in production they engaged a company to automate the filling and weighing of the process. We supplied a number control boxes to automate the process valving.

Problem: Design a remote operated pneumatic system to control the intensity of flames at a CFA fire simulator site for training.

We created and provided a Fire Control Bench simulator for the training of fire fighter crews extinguishing fires. An operator sat in a control tower and directed supervisors to assist in the training of new recruits.

Problem: Design and build a 57-litre 20-bar pressure chamber for a customer to pressure test their electronic instruments.

The chamber has an inner chamber that is filled with water and the instruments are lowered into with the cables over the edge of this chamber.

Due to OH&S, our customer was required to upgrade the pneumatic controls in their production area. The project included a total of 13 panels, installation and reconfiguration of the PLC program.

Problem: Operators complained that manually controlling air dampers was dangerous and an OH&S issue.

We were able to provide a supply assembled valve cylinder combination package for controlled operation of air damper systems.

Problem: Large 40 tonne vibration test bench supported on air bags would create a wave pattern due to the frequency, in turn this would distort the results and cause the test bench to shut down.

We provided a closed loop Fairchild transducer and display monitor systems controlling three banks of air bags in a test bed at an automotive test facility.

FIPA presents: Oval vacuum cups

Introducing the newly developed oval vacuum cups series.

The vacuum cups are characterised by a very long cycle life, which has also been successfully demonstrated against vacuum cups of competitors in practical operation. The long service life is enabled by means of a new high wear- and oil-resistant NBR material and a special vacuum suction cup construction which minimises the load on the vacuum cup during handling.


FIPA presents: New ID grippers for parts with different diameters

Flexible and service friendly

The pneumatically operated, single-acting ID grippers from FIPA GmbH have already established themselves as the alternative for workpieces with holes or cut-outs or for when vacuum cups or grippers aren’t just right for handling goods. FIPA has completely overhauled its portfolio and now offers users maximum flexibility with minimal set-up time.

The small ID grippers are now equipped with food-safe gripper heads made of polyamide (PA) and are suitable for light and small parts with openings measuring 3 to 10 millimeters in size. If necessary, the gripper heads can be easily exchanged in a non-destructive manner.
